Tuesday Teatime~ Great Is Thy Faithfulness

It's time for tea!
Grab a cup of tea and join me won't you?

One of my favorite hymns is "Great Is Thy Faithfulness", written by Thomas Chisholm in 1925....
I recently found this tall mug while thrifting and brought it home...Now it is one of my favorites for tea. The hymn was written in reflection to Lamentations 3:22-24~ Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassion's fail not, they are new every morning, great is thy faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him!"

It reminds me as we struggle through this life, and are persecuted, slandered or threatened by even the closest people to us, or people in our own churches, God stays faithful... Sometimes we even suffer while doing good and others want to tear you down for it. God however says those who do good and suffer are blessed. Have a good conscious, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame. For it is better to suffer by doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered. Yes, We suffer just as Christ did! 1 Peter 3:8

With that being said... As we suffer just as Christ did...We need to trust in God that He is faithful through the big or even the smallest circumstances. He will bring you through these times and trials in our lives as long as we trust in Him, pray to Him, hope in Him and believe that He will provide and care for us when in need. I have been leaning on these promises and His faithfulness the last month due to some heavy things we have had to endure as of late.
His mercies & faithfulness keep me sane during these hard trials.

And of course another beneficial thing to do is pray!
Pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances for His mercies, grace and His love for you. Have faith and hope dear friends...Even when people try to bring you down. You know He is sovereign. Don't lean on you own understanding...
Lean on His word and truth and He will give you light.

Great is they faithfulness, O God my Father!
There is no shadow of turning with Thee:
Though changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou has been Thou forever wilt be.

Refrain:
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me!

Summer and Winter, and Springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To They great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

 Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Refrain

Dear friends, when you feel weak find comfort in the scriptures. God will be your strength and provide your needs. Trust that even if His answers or outcome would not be your way:
Trust that He knows what is best for you.
Have faith... For great is His faithfulness!

Love, The Freckled Farmgirl
