The Barn At Hoey Ranch

My sweetheart took me out for a little Valentine date to visit The Barn At Hoey Ranch just 10 minutes from where we live. It is a beautiful large barn owned by 5th generation Jim and Debbie Hoey. The barn was built in the 1850's. Originally the family had a cattle ranch and grew grapes and prunes. Ranch hands and horses lived on the land as well. Later in the 40's they grew grapes, prunes and pear orchards. Now the barn is a well~known antique shop & Barntiquities. It was truly a dream come true...And The owners were so awesome. I love love love Debbie! She is such a sweetheart!

It was fun going through all the chippy, rusty goodness with my better half! I love how he gets me and knows what I love... If you are ever in Gilroy California go see The Barn and meet Debbie!!!

of rust and lichen and morning dew,
of hardy structures that have sheltered you.

amid hills and grass with gentle breeze,
these are the things of memories.

  3. Love the barn! He did a good job taking you out as the area looks beautiful. It looks like you had a blast while exploring and taking pictures. We have a barn on our property, and there's always something new to see when I look around, and taking pictures in front of a barn can give stunning results.
