Still Settling In...Well Trying To

We are still trying to settle in. Yet it has been kinda hard. I still have empty boxes, full boxes and messes everywhere. With the passing of my Uncle...I had one week to recoup, didn't get much done before we got more bad news. My husband's dad is now in the hospital on life support. We have been flooded with an emotional roller coaster. My hubby flew out to be with his dad and family...Praying he will get stronger every day and pull through!
While he is gone, I am trying to get things done...It's a busy week meeting with people, auditions for plays, and prepping our school year. I found some wicker for our sun room....I will be adding a wicker couch and coffee table tomorrow...Soon the room will be freshly painted, furniture, freshly painted, sheer and white curtains hung, plants put out, twinkly lights hung up and colorful vintage pillows plopped out....It's going to be a wonderful space to sit, sipping tea, chatting with friends enjoying the cool breezes through the windows. I am so excited to get this space done!

I'm also looking forward to getting my studio in order and actually start working...Again we have had some very hard and sad set backs...So hoping I will be up and running soon!!! I found a sweet sewing basket and another pin cushion to add to my collection....
In the garden I found stinging nettle, which I plan to harvest, dry out and make some things with it for health and beauty....Yes, I was actually really happy to find it growing next to my secret garden pathway....I did manage to get stung by it on my hands...Future reference: Wear gloves when dealing with nettle...It burns!

I am also posting a couple collages I made last year and never posted.
I just ran across them in my files...LOL

Hoping to return soon and share more glimpses into our home...It's just been a longer process this time around! Have a blessed week!!!!

  1. I am so sorry that you and/or family have been hit with so much sadness these past few weeks, and I hope your FIL improves very soon.

Your new sunroom with the wicker furniture looks very homey and cozy. It will be a perfect place to enjoy conversation as well as just tea and a good book or planner to fill. You are doing a wonderful job setting up your new place and I look forward to seeing what you finish next. Take care and take things easy!
