His Name Is David

Our dear friend gave birth to their fourth child a week and a half ago... I was honored to take his newborn pictures for them. What a sweet little blessing he is to this family. It was such a treat to take these photos of such a precious boy. His name is David, named after his grandfather who passed away just a handful of months before his birth.

I am actually pretty happy with the pictures I took, despite the fact it was uber hot that afternoon and little David was a bit feisty at times. He definitely has a mind of his own and moved into whatever position that was comfortable to him. He really was a great baby to photograph and just look at his serious expressions. Such a doll!!!

Welcome to the world little David!

Father's Day 2016~Our Little Picnic

This year we had a quiet Father's Day. We made a nice picnic lunch consisting of a lovely Mediterranean pasta salad, an Italian Salami sandwich topped with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, fresh roasted garlic spread and balsamic vinaigrette dashed with salt & pepper. I also packed up sweet watermelon, grapes, pink lemonade and mini blueberry muffins.

It was a delightful afternoon together celebrating our guy under a shady tree on top of a quilt with our picnic basket. After lunch we lay down on the quilt talking about the best parts of being a daddy. Then we snapped a few priceless photos of daddy and daughter together.....
(we missed having our son celebrate with us too)
One of the best parts of our picnic was that we had the whole park to ourselves.
The rest of the town was somewhere else!

There is no perfect day I'd rather spend my time with and that is with my little family!

Farmy Charm Thrifted Goodness

My girl and I spent the day out hitting the thrift shops. We hit three of our favorite shops and came home with some cute farmy goodness. Some items I will keep for myself as others I will set aside for my future Frolicking Farmgirl Shop. I found a small linen tablecloth and child's apron, a vintage salt box and darling ducky....

A beautiful farm embroidered tablecloth in white and yellow,
which I am so in love with!

A porcelain piggy, gingham orange kitschy curtains,
a sweet orange vintage apron and a couple lil doodads....

I also found some German Weck Canning Jars! And a vintage metal floral tole platter, funny chicken and a hand painted floral watercolor....

I also found a few scraps of vintage fabric, a small vintage suitcase and a vintage train case for my daughter's makeup! We not only scored! But we got some awesome cheap deals...I love thrifting!
Who doesn't like a good deal! Here's to a great week ahead! See y'all soon!!!

Lavender & Honey Lemonade AND Chicken Scratch

Thrifting is one of my favorite things to do. There's just nothing like finding a treasure and bringing it home to enjoy. My recent find was this big bowl with roses on it. It just had a sweet, delicate farmy charm to it...I can't wait to serve food for friends, using this baby. It is so pretty!

I also found a set of six fruit dessert spoons with a sweet floral design on the handle. These will go beautifully with my Indiana Glass, Kings Crown Thumbprint dishes! I really love incorporating feminine, delicate pieces into my home, mixed with my everyday wares. I really can't wait to be able to unpack all my pretty things and use them again in our home, Lord willing that will be soon!

There really hasn't been any new happenings this last week other than a few thrifting finds. My son celebrated his 22nd candle last Thursday....Miss him! I can't even express how hard it is having your kid live out of state...We don't get to celebrate the important stuff together. He did however have a great day and celebrated with his close friends. The weather here has been off the hook hot the last several days, so keeping hydrated and enjoying fun drinks helps keep Summer cool. I found this yummy Ginger Beer (no alcohol) It's a local company called Cock 'n Bull...A lovely Cherry, Ginger soft drink...Yummy! And part of me may or may have not bought it because of the label and cap. Not only that but it really was a tasty drink which I will buy again!

My friends let me glean from their goods...Such as this beautiful garden fresh lavender and fresh lemons picked from a backyard tree...Today was the perfect day to make a refreshing drink with those ingredients. If you are familiar with Mary Jane's Farm, she keeps an online journal called Raising Jane. There was a delish recipe posted. And of course I had to try it out!

This is a must try out recipe this Summer! The lavender is a delightful
addition to plain lemonade! I used local honey from my local
farmer's market in my recipe...
Which made it all the more lovely! Enjoy!!!!!!
