I love most of the Pioneer Woman dishes....Especially the floral in red, white, yellow, green and blues. It is so cheery and brightens up my kitchen! I love how it mixes well with my other dishes and kitschy vintage goodies. You can mix match all the bowls and it will still go together. Yummy!

Butter Makes Everything Better
Another installment of Pioneer Woman Wednesday, sharing my Pioneer Woman butter dish and cow creamer mixed with vintage floral canisters and pretty colorful flowers. It's quite the cheery vignette. Makes me smile! Hoping it gave you a smile too!

Blooming Garden Inspirations
I am getting ready planning out our garden for the next coming season. We decided to do square foot gardening which is basically raised beds. We are going to build our boxes then fence in the area since we have deer in the area. I found some fun inspiration on Pinterest to get my creative juices flowing.
Once we put in the fencing I am hoping we can build an arbor sorta like the one below, then add a gate for the entrance. The bird houses are a great addition...Though I may use bug houses instead. Lady bugs and bees are beneficial to a garden too!
We also plan to have some trellises for climbing plants, and a scarecrow will be a must... I would hang bunting on it as well, in hopes that it would scare unwanted critters off. I would also add some bunting on some of the fencing...So the wind will blow them around
a bit which may help detour critters as well.
I'm going to hang wind chimes as well...Another possible thing that would spook off critters. Wouldn't it be a pleasant sound while your out gardening away? I also plan to add old windows to the fencing behind climbing plants to add height where a deer can't get to it. Adding color will give our garden charm and whimsy! EEEEP!!!
I already started composting and would like to put in a rain barrel to help watering the plants.
Our plan is to plant things that we will use and eat of course, On my list is green beans, broccoli, squash, cucumber, peppers, tomatoes, carrots and hopefully spinach or lettuce of some sort. I am tinkering with the idea of planting potatoes or sweet potatoes too... I would also like to put in flowers and hoping to get my hands on some rhubarb. Now to start planting my seeds indoors soon and work on the measurements and design of our garden,,,,We have the plot all picked out: with no need to till the area since we are using raised beds...We will probably add rocks or wood chips to the ground around the boxes so we get less muddy areas when it rains. I also plan on working out little green houses and protection for my plants if we get a big storm.
Hopefully soon we will be able to show you some progress as we go,
yet it's going to be a lot of work ahead of us!!!
Can't wait to get a little closer to self sustaining our family!

Adventures Of Little Farmgirl Freckles
Today I had a little creative fun making some vignettes with little things and miniatures. It was actually kinda fun going through my things and setting up little scenes. My favorites are the couple I made of my childhood memories.
When I was a little girl I raised chickens...They were my joy and muse. I will always remember my little hen Dusty who would follow me everywhere, ride on the handlebars of my bicycle, ride our horse perched up on the saddle, and sleeping in my bed. I loved her so!
This little vignette is my childhood memory.
❤
One more childhood memory vignette. When I was a young girl I witnessed my horses birth...She was a beautiful little Appaloosa Filly....When she was old enough and trained I had the joy of riding her once, then my dad sold her. It's a precious moment I will always remember. Sad I didn't get to enjoy her longer... But we were going through some hard times after my parents parted ways.
I think I will make more little scenes here and there...Hee Hee....Aren't they cute??
Happy Weekend friends!
