Cardinals

Right outside my back door these precious birds hang out in my little trees. I have always loved Cardinals, perhaps it is the males brilliant red plumage, my favorite color which happens to be red. I don't know I have always thought they were pretty. My first time seeing them in real life was when we moved here to Indiana. And now I get my own personal flock that visits my yard! Eeeeep!

I also love their little faux hawk hair dos...and black masks...They are quite the little intriguing characters. One of a kind for sure!

Birds In The Hood

Quick update* Our Robin family babies flew the coop over the weekend. I captured the last lil guy perched and contemplating his take off as his momma was telling him to jump..And shortly after that he took the leap. I also captured a few more birds that were singing in the trees...
Hope your weekend was a good one and your week ahead will be even better!!

In The Nest

Momma and Poppa Robin's eggs hatched about two weeks ago. Everyday I look out and the babies look different each time. Pretty soon they will fly off.

News* I have been a bit quiet over here due to getting sick after the Beauty And The Beast play, and packing up our rental. Yup!!! Packing and moving once again! We are buying a sweet house in town and close to our church. It's not my dream farm, but is a beautiful house in which we hope to settle down in for a long while. I will share some snippets soon. Our move in date is just a few weeks away before our son flys out for a visit...Lot's to do, so little time!

Before The Summer Evening Storm

I took some photos today before we were hit by a Summer storm this evening. I wanted to show you that our Momma & Daddy Robin are back! I took the old nest out of the eaves...Several weeks later they built again in the same spot. They had tried building in our Oak tree but...they abandoned it for reasons unknown. I'm thinking it wasn't a safe spot...so they came back under the porch...Which is a much safer place to raise their babes.

The birds were out singing, the butterflies were fluttering. It was such a lovely afternoon! The storm came in strong this evening, I can still hear the birds singing...They surely love the rain!
