Making & Organizing

I have been busy making things pretty much every day now that we have been quarantined to our homes. I was laid off from my job about three weeks ago. It really has been good to be home, to reconnect with my creative side, to just be, to be me, to send time with my family, to relax and just make, create, cook, bake and organize my mess.  I made our own hand sanitizer sprays, healing, herbal salves and will be making tub teas, essential oil mood rollers and sugar scrubs. These items will also be made for future shop stock. Yay!!!

I have been playing around with different mediums and really enjoying them. These watercolor paint pens are awesome for my daily journaling I have been working on. They are fabulous and vibrant!I recommend hem to any budding artist...they are really a forgiving medium, Until later..See you soon!

Colorful Rope Basket

I have found my love for making things again. It really has been a good time while being at home. I pulled out some of my happy fabrics and started ripping and twisting for hours.....Then I made this lovely piece. A little basket. So sweet. I will be making more and adding it to my future selling pile of things I will be working on. Planning to start my little business up again. Makes me happy!

Changing My Name & Art Journaling

I've decided to change my business/blog name! I'm getting older and there's no future as it looks now where I will have a hobby farm in this season of my life... I am a farmgirl at heart but Frolicking Farmgirl for my business name didn't seem personal to ME. I will always be The Frolicking Freckled Farmgirl...or Frolicking Freckles: But where I originate from would definitely be Wildroots. On both sides of my family...We have different roots stemming from all over the world, and my upbringing was definitely wild....I never had a rooted upbringing, let alone a rooted life... (IE: Staying somewhere long enough to grow deep roots and grow in one place.) I am not even sure how long we would even make roots where we are at now. In this season of our lives...we are trying to plant our roots in Indiana, but this is not our forever home. Meaning the rental we live in now, definitely is not where I want to live for the rest of my days. We have always moved around unable to plant deep. My roots are just all over the place! And that is ok. That is what has shaped me in my life, making me who I am today. The only thing I know for sure and is the deepest root of all, that has never been uprooted is that I am planted deep in my faith.
When it comes to my business...I am dreaming up things to make and create and actually open up again as a place to find homemade goods. I have been on a very long hiatus due to our roots being pulled up many times over the last decade. I have had some time to heal not only mentally but physically from trauma we endured from toxic people in our lives and health issues that kept me from living a happy full life. But, I am healing...and I am the happiest I have been in years. So, with that I will start creating again and hope to share it with everyone. It has brought me joy to actually dabble in painting and sewing, baking, and making.
I have also started an art journal. Hope you like my first several excerpts.
Stay tuned!!!

Just A Few Of My Favorite Places Downtown Fort Wayne

Trubble Brewing has yummy food. My favorite is Saturday brunch cornmeal waffles with savory chicken...YUMMY

Very unique...Bird and Cleaver. Vegan Mac and cheese for the win...and their vegan tacos are really god too! Plus look at the cute inside of this place. Love the look and atmosphere.

A delightful hole in the wall. Favorite burger is hands down the pretzel burger that has peanut butter and jalapenos on it. Sounds weird but reallllly good. They also have good hot dogs. Veggie dogs for the win!

The friendly Fox also has some unique food. I love the flat breads and their very Berry shake is sooooo good! Another fave is their blueberry lavender lemonade. So tasty!

Dash In...Great gluten free bread with their pulled meat and cabbage. The salads are tasty. There many more good dishes and good beer!

Funky spot...Love their white chocolate raspberry cocoa

Savery Vegan Grill...Yummy Vegan junk food! Fave is hands down the Bronco Burger, their onion rings and their vegan desserts!

Lastly, this is not a restaurant but a funky shop downtown. Fun and funky items.

Haven't had their cake....But the shop is darn cute!
