Still Settling In...Well Trying To

We are still trying to settle in. Yet it has been kinda hard. I still have empty boxes, full boxes and messes everywhere. With the passing of my Uncle...I had one week to recoup, didn't get much done before we got more bad news. My husband's dad is now in the hospital on life support. We have been flooded with an emotional roller coaster. My hubby flew out to be with his dad and family...Praying he will get stronger every day and pull through!
While he is gone, I am trying to get things done...It's a busy week meeting with people, auditions for plays, and prepping our school year. I found some wicker for our sun room....I will be adding a wicker couch and coffee table tomorrow...Soon the room will be freshly painted, furniture, freshly painted, sheer and white curtains hung, plants put out, twinkly lights hung up and colorful vintage pillows plopped out....It's going to be a wonderful space to sit, sipping tea, chatting with friends enjoying the cool breezes through the windows. I am so excited to get this space done!

I'm also looking forward to getting my studio in order and actually start working...Again we have had some very hard and sad set backs...So hoping I will be up and running soon!!! I found a sweet sewing basket and another pin cushion to add to my collection....
In the garden I found stinging nettle, which I plan to harvest, dry out and make some things with it for health and beauty....Yes, I was actually really happy to find it growing next to my secret garden pathway....I did manage to get stung by it on my hands...Future reference: Wear gloves when dealing with nettle...It burns!

I am also posting a couple collages I made last year and never posted.
I just ran across them in my files...LOL

Hoping to return soon and share more glimpses into our home...It's just been a longer process this time around! Have a blessed week!!!!

Finds Of The Week

I scored on a bunch of embroidered linens, lace and eyelet this week. I also found some kitschy stuff for my lil farmhouse. My fave find was the Cherry FireKing bowl for just a few bucks! Many of the fabrics I found will find a new home in purses and more! I found a few more things but will share those later...It's very dark and rainy here today, so pictures wouldn't be great. until next time!

Fun Finds This Week

Ok so I love thrifting...This week I went out treasure hunting for things I like or things I will add to Farmgirl Freckles inventory. I found goodies for great prices... There are a few things I will not part with...Like the adorable hanging chalkware cherry, the green cow bell and the purple cow.

I will probably keep the cookie cutters as well, because heck, why not they are cute! And I am also keeping the lil sewing basket to add to my collection. This one is the smallest one I have so far!

Hope y'all have a good ole' weekend!
Looks like we will be getting some warmer weather
this weekend and week ahead!!! Yay!!!!!!

Wash Day

Our washer finally got replaced last week...What a luxury we have in washing machines and dryers. Especially when you can have them in your home. It is no fun having to tote all your laundry outside the home whether at a laundry mat or taking it over to a friend or family to wash. I was very blessed to have friends allow us to come over for a week and a half to do our laundry...But boy do I love having our own washer and dryer in the convenience of our home. When weather permits...it's nice to dry the clothes on a line in the sun, not that I have to hang them outside but because I want to. It also gives me a chance to use my clothespin bags!!!!

Farmgirl Charm

My Thrifting finds have been good lately! I found these beautiful colorful bowels with flowers and fruit. These are so lovely and perfect for a colorful farmhouse. I will probably hold on to these and resell down the line. Yet, I am very tempted to keep the green one with flowers!

I also found this sweet pair of salt and pepper shakers. I am smitten with them...The cool thing is they were on sale and I ended up paying a whopping 50 cents!!!

I found some fabrics, little linen aprons and funky colorful quilts. I will be using the fabrics in upcoming goodies and hold on to the quilts for resale as well. My dream is to be a part of a vintage show or something of the sort. I have been collected things for the past several years for that purpose. It just takes time....Plus need to find a good venue.

Be on the lookout for more goodies coming out of my studio...I am a bit behind due to several deaths in our church family this last week. But hopefully will be back on track this coming week ahead!
