Pride & Prejudice

Well I guess I ended up taking a month long hiatus from the blog. I'm back! Life got a little busy with the plays and things....I figured since I haven't been here for a bit that I'd share the play my daughter was in. She played Lady Catherine De Bourgh in Pride & Prejudice, as well as a background character. The play was really good and I must express to you how awesome my daughter did in her part. In the end she stole the scene...Honestly I think she stole the show...But that my bias opinion. The cast however did an excellent job as it was also directed by a great lady.

I also had the honor of taking pictures of the whole play. There were like 600 pictures...I couldn't share them all here so I chose a handful to give you a lil taste of the show.

It was great really. Her friends and her boyfriends family came to watch one evening. Of course her boyfriend came to watch and support her on a different night and I forgot my camera to get a picture of them together, Ughhh.

(Also pretty cool the photograph I took for the promo shoot made it in our local paper!)

Sadly my daughter also chose to leave, making this her last play with the group. I think she went out with a bang!!! Sad to see her leave before she finishes her Senior year but I let her make that decision. I can't and won't make her do something she doesn't want to do. Though I did try to encourage her to stay because darn it she is so talented. Now she will be off making plans for her future, getting a job, figuring out things and building her beginnings with her sweet man.
I guess she is my lil fledgling.

Cardinals

Right outside my back door these precious birds hang out in my little trees. I have always loved Cardinals, perhaps it is the males brilliant red plumage, my favorite color which happens to be red. I don't know I have always thought they were pretty. My first time seeing them in real life was when we moved here to Indiana. And now I get my own personal flock that visits my yard! Eeeeep!

I also love their little faux hawk hair dos...and black masks...They are quite the little intriguing characters. One of a kind for sure!

Happy new Year 2018

2017 brought some deep broken hearts with the loss of my beloved Uncle, my Aunt, my Hubby’s Uncle and his Dad. Yet it brought us many joys too.! We moved into a darling little brick house in town, my daughter met the guy of her dreams, we got to meet my son’s girlfriend, my girl and I went on many adventures together, we were visited by my momma and pops, my son came for a visit during the Summer, my daughter finished a few plays and we ate a lot of Chick-fil-A for some weird reason. Here’s to a good year ahead!

My girls boyfriend celebrated his 19th candle. She went to his birthday dinner with him and his family. I love the picture they had taken while at the restaurant.
What a sweet way to ring in the New Year together!

In the meantime Christmas is getting all packed up and put away until next year....Prayerfully the New Year will bring a lot more joy into our lives. I know life is out of our control, but we can hope for a bit more peace, joy and happiness right? This year, I have many good intentions, I don't promise myself resolutions that are sometimes unrealistic. It will take baby steps to reach some goals and dreams as well as determination and patience. All I can say is I will try harder if I succeed then yay, if I fail, which I may at some things, well then try try again...I won't give up!
Here's to a better year, 2018....Be blessed y'all!
