Chicken Scratch & Brown Chicken Brown Cow

Well our boy flew home this morning...(sigh) it was a short but sweet visit with him...Probably will be another year before we see him again. We are so proud of him for what he is doing in his life and trying to make it in this world on his own. We just miss him terribly! We took a few pictures before he left...Had to capture the "quilt picture" Almost every year we have captured a picture of them lying on their backs looking up at me. It has shown how much they have grown up. I miss him already!!!
On the way home from dropping our boy off at the airport we went window shopping in an old part of a nearby town and had a sweet lunch at Brown Chicken Brown Cow.

They served their drinks in Mason jars, their food on pie tins and fries in lil buckets. My kind of place. The food was amazzzzing...Fresh grass-fed beef and pasture raised chickens. Mr. Darling ordered a burger called The angry Goat cheeseburger....Grass fed beef patty with veggies, jalapenos and topped with Goat cheese...t was delightful. Freckles and I got gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches made with sharp cheddar, almond pesto and tomato...Boy, was it flavorful!

The happiest spot there was the darling artwork from kids that come to the restaurant...Colorful cows and chickens adorn their hallway from floor to ceiling! It was a fun afternoon. Afterwards we stopped at a thrift shop for a quick looksie...I found four old jars, which came home with us.
I'd say it was a good day indeed!

Mother's Day 2016

The first salad I made is from
The Pioneer Woman...So good!

The second salad is a broccoli pasta salad and was really yummy....
I would definitely make this again.

For the drink I made this Apple Julep...It is quite tasty ans refreshing!

Lastly I made these sweet cookies! Strawberry Lemonade Crinkles...They are listed as a Valentine cookie...However, I beg to differ...These little delights are good for anytime!

This year...I got to spend Mother's Day with both my kids!!! Our son flew out from Washington for a long weekend with us. It has been so great to have our boy home even for a few days...Even though it was wayyyy to short of a visit...But one of the best yet! We just kicked back as a family and our friends, played pool, went shopping, had lunch out, went to a coffee shop, talked,
relaxed and spent Mother's Day together eating great food! I am blessed and full of joy...
But don't want him to go back. My kids are the world to me...
I am honored to be their Momma!

Lil Country Kids Photo Session

ONe thing I love is taking pictures. I have been blessed to take these darling little's photos for the last couple years for birthdays and Christmas. We had to catch up on two birthdays and tried to get a Momma's day picture before number four babe arrives! So we got all of them done yesterday!!!

They are busy little people but I think I was able to capture a nice amount of good ones. Can't wait for the new baby to arrive so I can take pictures again for them...These kids are adorable.

I am pleased with how these turned out...
I was able to capture some fun country style cuteness.

Farmhouse Scrappy Clothesline Basket

I've had this project on my list to make for quite a while....I happened to pass through an isle in Walmart where the cotton clothesline rope was, reminding me of this very project. The cotton clothesline rope came on a big skein measuring 100 feet. A few days later I pulled out my fabrics and scraps from my Dottie Frock made last month and started wrapping the rope. Four hours later it was ready to go. The rope itself is absolutely gorgeous.
I chose mostly vintage fabrics in happy, bright colors.

This morning I got to making my farmhouse basket...And instantly fell in love!
The colors and prints are perfect together. My farmhouse basket turned
out a little wonky...But hey, it's my first one after all.

It is the perfect size for gathering eggs, storing crafty projects, or giving a gift. I will definitely be making more of these! If you are interested in trying your hand at making one yourself, go to Pinterest.com and search rope basket tutorial. There are many to choose from.

And I may or may not have bought these
jars of yummies for the label. LOL...

Happy basket making!!!
