Healing Salve

This year I plan on making more. Getting my business up and running again. I got out out my dried flowers that have been infusing in grape seed oil for sometime now and made a beautiful healing salve. Infused Calendula & Lavender with tea tree oil and essential oils. Perfect for healing/soothing eczema, dried skin/cracked skin. A great staple to have in our healing cabinet!

Maw's Homestead Coffee & Cacao Brown Sugar Face Scrub

Coffee is a staple on a farmgirl's homestead! Have you ever thought to use it on your face though? It's true...You can and it has some nice benefits too! The caffeine in coffee improves circulation in the skin, it stimulates and exfoliates as well as tighten the skin.
And who doesn't love the smell of coffee grounds?

This is a pretty simple recipe you can throw together and give to your Maw this Mother's Day. All you need is ground coffee, brown sugar, ground cacao, jojoba oil,
 Peppermint Essential Oil.

Put 1/2 cup brown sugar in a small bowl then slowly add 1/2 cup Jojoba oil. Measure out and stir in 1/4 cup coffee grounds and 2 Tablespoons ground cacao. Lastly add 10 drops peppermint essential oil, mix well. Store in air tight glass containers. Give as gifts! This will be perfect to use on your face in the morning to stimulate your skin and maybe even wake you up!

Easy Farmgirl Goats Milk & Lemon Soap Bars

I made a batch of easy Goats Milk & Lemon soap bars over the weekend. Thought this might be a good idea for y'all to make yourself for Mother's Day or just simple gifts in general. Of course you can use it for yourself too!!!! This is so easy to make!!! pick up a package of heat and pour goats milk soap base, a lemon, lemon essential oil and some flax or poppy seeds. I used half the package of soap base....Follow heating instructions on package. Then I added dried lemon peel & 40 drops of lemon essential oil, ( if you want yellow soap use yellow soap colorant) I wanted mine white...Just looks pretty with the lemon flakes) mix well, pour in soap molds and sprinkle flax seed or poppy seeds on top. Let cool and harden. I used a rectangle soap mold so had to cut my bars.
You can use any soap mold you desire for this project!

It is so simple to make! And smells so good you could almost eat it...
But don't really eat it...Ha Ha Ha!!!
Soap making is really fun...Enjoy!!!

My Barter Goods

In one of my last posts I mentioned I found a young homesteader gal to barter goods with. I love the idea of bartering and sharing your homemade, homespun goods in exchange for other peoples homemade, homespun goods. I am excited to be shipping off my barter to her. I will also e baking some goodies for her, her husband and three littles. Off it will go to Texas next week after Easter.

I made her handmade soap, salve and sending my vanilla bean pear jam. I hope she will like the goodies...I can't wait to get her handmade goodness in return. Maybe I'll try bartering with others who are interested in sharing homemade. Don't you just love the idea! Will share more about that soon.
