Frankfort Beach & Lighthouse
And here is another day we went out for a drive...Just about 45 minutes away from our cottage cabin we went to see Frankfort Lighthouse. We would have walked the boardwalk to get closer but there was a huge iceberg on the walk. And yet again it was another rainy and very cold day. We really could only handle a little bit out in in then ran back to the car to thaw out. We then found a little restaurant in Traverse City and had lunch. Then headed back to the cabin for a little rest,
a fire and games.
Michigan Down By The Waterfront
One afternoon the kids and I went on a little adventure drive down by the water. Less than five minutes out in that freezing cold, we ran back to the car after pictures. The wind was rough and the waters were choppy. But boy was it beautiful! The town was pretty dead, so really not much to see also due to the bad weather.....We drove back to the cottage and thawed out with a fire later that day.
Still had fun and who can resist looking at this view!!!
The Cottage
We went on an adventure for Spring break a couple of weeks ago. I found this adorable Airbnb in Michigan that was perfect for our getaway together. We rented a car and took the lovebirds along with us. Even though it was really cold, with rain and snow...We made the best of it and had a great time together just being with one another.
Here are some snippets of our little cottage cabin in the woods.
We stocked the food up and planned some really fun breakfasts! One morning the lovebirds made pancakes with eggs and sausage. The remainder of the mornings we had biscuits and gravy, yummy crepes, and oatmeal a couple mornings.
We had breakfast here and the lovebirds spent time at the table playing games, and even brought canvas's to paint. How sweet is that?
We got a ton of wood and had several nights of fires,
roasting marshmallows inside and playing games together.
The lovebirds even had their own personal nook which they spent a lot of time in, giggling, laying with their phones and a few naps and cuddles...Can you tell?
They even shared the cutest bathroom and prepped for bed together every night. We did however have our own rooms....And we slept very good every night we were there. We had originally planned on 4 nights but loved it so much we added on an extra evening. And so glad we did!!!
It really was a nice time...And so great to get to know our daughter's boyfriend more. He fits in with us quite well. Really looking forward to calling that young man my son! What a gem! The lovebirds too had a great time with one another doing some things on their own and just simply being together!
